Fabric Care

Let’s take a closer look at the fabrics that Making Thinking uses.

Here, we will introduce the fabrics we use most often—their inspiration, the comfort they bring when worn, and their impact on the environment. You’ll also find our garment care guide. At Making Thinking, we are committed to creating timeless, durable pieces with designs that will remain a cherished part of your wardrobe for years to come.

Thoughtful Consumption

Every piece of clothing has an impact on our planet. At Making Thinking, we design timeless garments meant to stay with you for years, not just a season. We encourage mindful choices—invest in quality fabrics, care for them with intention, and consider passing them on when you no longer need them. Together, we can reduce waste and cherish the clothes we love for longer.

Wearing with Care

Treat your garments with love. Repair small damages like loose seams or missing buttons early. Give your clothes time to breathe between wears, and rotate them to extend their life. Be cautious when layering fabrics—dark or denim pieces may transfer color onto lighter ones. Avoid carrying heavy bags over delicate fabrics to prevent pulling and pilling.

Drying & Ironing

Air drying is always the best option. Lay delicate items flat to prevent stretching, and hang sturdier pieces when possible. Avoid tumble drying—it weakens fibers and shortens garment lifespan. If ironing is needed, use a low temperature or a steamer to gently remove wrinkles without damaging the fabric.

Washing Wisely

Always check the care label before washing. Wash only when necessary, as over-washing fades colors and weakens fibers. Spot clean minor stains, steam instead of wash when possible, and air out your clothes to refresh them.

  • Hand wash preferred: It’s gentler on fibers than machine washing.
  • Machine wash tips: Use cold water and mild detergent. Wash garments inside out and with similar colors.
  • Eco tip: Use a microfibre laundry bag to prevent microplastics from entering waterways.
Skip bleach and fabric softeners—they damage fibers and release harmful chemicals into the environment. Choose biodegradable, gentle detergents instead.

Storing Thoughtfully

We make things that work better and last longer. Our products solve real problems with clean design and honest materials.
